My first autonomous car ride

Was in San Francisco last week and took my first ride in a Waymo. No driver, just an autonomous car and me! Exciting stuff!

Everyone has been asking, was it scary??? I would say, Not at all. Felt very natural and I was happy in the car!

The Waymo did take a much longer route though but maybe that’s part of its trained route or something. And one interesting moment was when it got itself into a bit of a situation where it blocked itself behind a parked car on a very busy road and then it was way too polite to nudge itself out of the jam 😂. That’s when a message appeared that the team at the back was helping… hope next time I go there, the car has learnt this too!

But felt awesome to see amazing tech progress. Keep going team Waymo.

Dinner with the King
